The COVID-19 antibody test, if positive, is presumed to mean a person has been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, at some point in the past. It does not mean they are currently infected. The result of this test should only be used for informational purposes.
SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) antibody test detects the presence of antibodies and can help identify individuals who have been infected to COVID-19. The antibodies are found in serum, which is a component of an individual’s blood.
Results for this antibody test are for research purposes only by the assay’s manufacturer. The performance characteristics of this product have not been fully established. Results should not be used as a diagnostic procedure without confirmation of the diagnosis by another medically established diagnostic product or procedure.
